WITS



WITS (Women in technology and science) is an independent, non-profit organisation to actively promote women in technology and science across the island of Ireland. WITS has a broad membership base of scientists, engineers and technologists. The WITS memberships covers a huge diversity of women in science, engineering and technology (SET) spanning academia, media, government agencies and laboratories, entrepreneurs, multi-nationals and indigenous enterprises. Over the past 19 years WITS has worked tirelessly to promote SET as a career choice for women. WITS has initiated and run a number of successful programmes aimed at Recruiting, Retaining and Returning women into SET careers in parallel with these programmes WITS influences policy and culture through conferences, discussion groups, papers and publications which highlight women's participation in SET currently and historically
